SNAP Recipients Threatens To Loot If Government Remains Closed

As November 1st approaches, those who rely on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) may begin to feel the effects of the government shutdown. The chaos has increased within the last 2 weeks among House Representatives. SNAP recipients have been seen on social apps threatening to loot stores if their benefits are not deposited. In response to the threats, some have suggested that SNAP recipients who choose to loot should be terminated from the program.

Mixed feelings have surfaced online regarding the potential pause of SNAP, by calling it a wake up call. While democrats are using the shutdown as leverage, Americans are forced to starve until they regain power. This tactic could possibly backfire when democrats are up for re-election. Why should voters re-elect the very democrats who voted against reopening the government over 10 times?  

The Trump Administration is now debating on using the nuclear option to reopen the government if House Democrats refuse to pass a clean continuing resolution. Forcing House Republicans to take this action only proves that democrat officials are not willing to put their personal agendas to the side for the people they serve unless it benefits them by winning every election.
