Pennsylvania’s (D) Senator John Fetterman has a solid understanding that the unpleasant ways of the democratic party will keep them out of office. Fetterman stated in a recent interview that people need to stop comparing President Trump to Hitler and other hated figures. He urges the democrats to "turn the temperature down". Fetterman made it clear that America voted for the President they preferred, which was President Trump, while including that he does not agree with Trump’s political views. Fetterman also feels that people who disagree with liberal ideology do not qualify to be called fascists. It only means they disagree. While democrats are declaring Trump is an "autocrat", Fetterman believes Trump does not fit the definition.
Fetterman seems to be thinking rationally and is discerning that the democratic party is sinking by the day. Cautiously taking the steps to save his party it is unclear if his message will be received by his fellow political colleagues. It’s been reported on several occasions that there is a split in the democratic party which is causing division. Eventually this will lead to the destruction of their own.
We can only hope that Fetterman’s wise words will encourage others to be mindful of their remarks. Reaching a common ground is critical as a public elected figure. It is often forgotten as to why we have a 2 party system with different political views. From a basic perspective, we elect government officials to reach a common ground on concerning issues of the voters, in addition to creating laws that benefit the people of this country as a whole.
