The Recording Academy is set to honor Slick Rick with a 2023 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Although Slick has never won a Grammy, his contribution to Hip Hop is significant. We all know how the Grammy's are known for snubbing talented and well deserved artist, but none the less his fans and supporters are thrilled for the honor. Some say it's well over do. Music Artist like Beyonce, Nas, and so many others have sampled Slick Rick's music. To this day, I still stream "Hey Young World" which is definitely a favorite of mine! Congrats to Slick Rick for his astonishing contribution not only to the Hip Hop Community but to the music industry as a whole!
